This section is for spring 2012 Registration
Season Starts April 7, 2012 (IM and Travel BAYS)
Note: If you are attempting to register a daughter, please be aware that Newton Youth Soccer is co-ed, but primarily boys. Newton Girls Soccer is an all girls program. If you want your daughter to play in an all girls league, please go to http://www.newtongirlssoccer.org/ and register there.

The Spring registration for NYS has started and once again welcome to our programs. NYS continuously attempts to improve the programs we offer. Between the In-Town and the Travel BAYS programs, we enroll close to 1600 players annually. We offer classes for coaches with advanced or no experience. Our goal is to maximize participation and encourage everyone to participate.
The following outlines the process for this fall and guidelines for registering. Please read this page carefully and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
Note: Travel program may require tryouts for further placement based on skill and level of play. Please check with the age coordinator for more info. Intramural program for grades 1st thru 7th does not require tryouts.
NYS is in its eight season using the online registration process and we're happy to report that we are 100% online registration. We realize that some parents may not have access to a computer while others have a need for a confidential scholarship. NYS is sensitive to these issues and have allowed for these exceptions. Please contact us for registration.
Important: Spring Travel (BAYS) Program and 1st -7th grade Intramural program:
In the spring we offer a travel (BAYS) program opened to all 3rd graders and above. The travel program is based on a ranking system determined by tryouts held mainly in the spring for all grades except for U16 and U18 which may be held in the fall tryouts. In order to participate in the tryout on the dates advertised, this registration is required. For ages who are not trying out in the fall, registration is required to be placed on a team.
We also offer an In Town Intramural program consisting of 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4/5th grade, 6/7th grade leagues. Please note that if we are unable to field enough teams in any listed age group, a refund will be issued.
U16-U18 Tryout Dates and Times: See Tryout page
Tryouts will be 1+ hour
sessions. Please register online at least one
week prior to the tryout date.
You will receive an email from your Age Group Coordinator (AGC) a day or
two before the tryout with your assigned tryout time and the location.
Anyone with direct conflicts should contact their AGC (contact information can
be found at http://newtonsoccer.org/contacts.htm.)
Paper form vs. online registration:
If you absolutely need to register via regular mail and do not have web access please send a self-addressed envelope to NYS P.O Box 610308 Newton MA 02461. If you have access to the web please print the appropriate form and mail with the appropriate fee to the address indicated. If you are in need of a scholarship, please attach a letter to the application requesting the full or partial scholarship.

Multi registrants in the same family discount (Intramural program only):
The Intramural program offers substantial discounts when 2 or more siblings are signed up to this program. Once you complete the first registration, start the next one right away and the discount will be calculated automatically.
Scholarship:
No child would be denied participation in soccer programs due to difficulties in making the registration payment. If you request a full or partial scholarship, you must do it by Email or regular mail. The system will not accept an online registration without a credit card. To apply for a scholarship, please email Scholarships with the request.
Important! Deadlines and late fees:
NYS encourages everyone to register early since we have limited spaces. In order to play in the travel BAYS program, tryouts may be required. No tryouts are necessary for Intramural. For the travel program, the registration to guarantee a space on a team is requested by December 15, 2011. After that date, players will be added on space available basis.
The regular fee is $105. The late fee of $25 for BAYS Travel and IM grades starts December 30, 2011.
Refund: No refunds will be granted after: March 15, 2012.
(An Admin fee of $8.50 is deducted from the refund amount)
TRAVEL - Register to the Travel program (by Age Groups):
For BAYS Travel, we place players based on age brackets and tryout results.
Major age groups are: U9, U10, U11, U12, U14, U16, U18
The age group will be determined by the age of the player. The following is a guide for the age bracket.

U-10 -- CLOSED - contact the coordinator (born on or between 8/1/01 & 7/31/02) - Includes 4th graders born after 8/1/02
U-11 -- CLOSED - contact the coordinator (born on or between 8/1/00 & 7/31/01) - Includes 5th graders born after 8/1/01
U-12 -- CLOSED - contact the coordinator (born on or between 8/1/99 & 7/31/00) - Includes 6th graders born after 8/1/00
U-14 -- CLOSED - contact the coordinator (born on or between 8/1/97 & 7/31/99) - Includes 8th graders born after 8/1/99 - Includes 7th graders born after 8/1/98
U-16 -- (born on or between 8/1/95 & 7/31/97) - Includes 9th graders born after 8/1/97 - Includes 10th graders born after 8/1/96
U-18 -- (born on or between 8/1/93 & 7/31/95) - Includes 12th graders born after 8/1/94 - Includes 11th graders born after 8/1/95
(U-19 - born on or between 8/1/91 & 7/31/92) - Check with U18 coordinators

IM - Register to the In-Town Intramural program (by Grade):
For IM In-town program, we place players based on grade. No tryouts required.
Grade participating: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th/5th, 6th/7th.
Placement on team is on the first come first served basis.

Special Note: The Greg Chan and Steve Glidden Scholarship Fund: Greg and Steve met on a Newton Soccer Field. Their enthusiasm and friendship remind us all of what is most important. Greg and Steve passed away together on a school trip on April 27, 2001. In their honor NYS has established a scholarship fund to enable children with financial need to participate in our programs.
